U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, who has been serving Florida's 14th district since 2007, recently shared several updates via social media. Born in Miami and currently residing in Tampa, Castor is an alumna of Emory University and Florida State University.

On February 18, 2025, Rep. Castor addressed concerns about data transparency under the Trump administration. She stated that "Trump is withholding critical taxpayer-funded datasets essential to government accountability, public and private sector research, and the work of countless businesses and nonprofits." In response to this issue, she led a group of 78 colleagues in writing a letter to the Office of Management and Budget Director.

Later that day, Castor highlighted the contributions of service members from MacDill Air Force Base during emergency weather situations. She expressed her appreciation by stating "Our @MacDill_AFB service members do so much for our country and our Tampa Bay neighbors, especially during emergency weather situations." She awarded eight service members as "Hurricane Heroes" for their efforts during Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
