In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the City of Tampa offices will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025. This closure affects trash collection schedules for both residential and commercial customers.
Residential customers who usually have their garbage, recycling, or yard waste collected on Mondays will not receive service on January 20. Instead, their trash will be picked up on the next scheduled service day. Regular residential collection services will resume on Tuesday, January 21.
For commercial customers, the collection service will operate one day behind schedule through Saturday, January 25. Normal collection schedules for commercial services will resume on Monday, January 27.
Additionally, the McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House at 114 S. 34th St. will also be closed on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, January 21.
Residents can download the Tampa Trash and Recycling app from Apple and Google Play Stores to receive personalized schedules. For questions or concerns regarding the revised schedule, customers are encouraged to contact the City of Tampa Utilities Call Center at (813) 274-8811 or visit www.tampa.gov/solidwaste.
