Tampa Police are investigating a shooting that took place near the intersection of N. O'Brien St and W. Spruce St just after noon on January 10, 2025. Initial reports indicate that a disagreement between two men escalated into gunfire.

The suspect is described as an adult black male with long dreadlocks, wearing a black beanie and jacket, and pulling a roller bag. The victim, an adult Hispanic male in his late 40s, was shot in the abdomen and taken to a nearby hospital where he is in serious condition.

Although the incident did not occur on airport property, Tampa International Airport Police assisted with the initial response and traffic control. Westbound traffic on Spruce St was temporarily redirected but has since resumed normal flow.

Tampa Police detectives are actively working to gather evidence and identify the suspect. They urge anyone with information to contact them at 813.231.6130 or through the TampaPD app, or reach out to Crimestoppers of Tampa Bay at 800.873.TIPS.

Further updates will be provided as they become available.
