The City of Tampa is set to host a banner drop event on Wednesday, in collaboration with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This tradition follows the Bucs' recent victory and comes ahead of another home playoff game this weekend.

Mayor Castor has extended an invitation to the public and media to attend the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch as Bucs alumni and executives, including Chief Operating Officer Brian Ford, participate in releasing a banner from an aerial ladder on a Tampa Fire Rescue fire engine. The event will also feature appearances by Bucs cheerleaders, promotional teams, and pirates.

During the playoff season, Old City Hall and other city buildings will be illuminated in red to show support for the team.

The banner drop is planned for 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at E Jackson St and N Florida Ave in downtown Tampa.
