Tampa, FL - On January 6, 2025, Tampa Police were called to the scene of a reported deceased person in the water near the 2400 block of Chapin St. The incident occurred shortly before 3:15 pm.
The Tampa Police Dive Team retrieved the body of an adult male from the water. Detectives are actively investigating the situation to determine the circumstances surrounding this event. Efforts are being made to confirm the identity of the deceased and inform his next of kin.
The Medical Examiner is responsible for establishing the cause of death. According to officials, "it is very early in this active investigation." Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
