The Tampa City Council has confirmed Abbye Feeley as the Administrator for Development and Economic Opportunity. The decision was made on Thursday, following Feeley's interim service since July 2024 after Nicole Travis left the position.
Feeley brings over two decades of public service experience to her new role. She previously served as the city's planning and development coordinator and worked as a planner with the former Department of Community Affairs. Her career with the City of Tampa includes her appointment as Director of Development and Growth Management in October 2020 and her promotion to Deputy Administrator in May 2022. Before joining the city, Feeley held a position at Stearns Weaver Miller as Associate Director of Zoning & Planning.
"With numerous decades of experience in public service, Abbye has the commitment, passion and institutional knowledge to manage the diverse DEO portfolio," stated Mayor Jane Castor. "Her leadership will be critical as we continue to transform Tampa's tomorrow, while preserving the character of our community."
In her capacity as administrator, Feeley will oversee various divisions including Architectural Review & Historic Preservation, Construction Services, Development Coordination, Housing & Community Development, City Planning, Tampa Convention Center, Real Estate, and Economic Opportunity.
