U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, who has served Florida's 14th district since 2007, shared a series of tweets on December 4, 2024, addressing various issues from healthcare enrollment to online safety and utility regulation.

In her first tweet on December 4 at 16:57 UTC, Castor encouraged Floridians to join the "1.5M Floridians that have already signed up for affordable, high-quality ACA health coverage plans for next year!" She reminded constituents to enroll by December 15 for coverage effective January 1, 2025. "Join the 1.5M Floridians that have already signed up for affordable, high-quality ACA health coverage plans for next year! Enroll by December 15th for coverage effective on Jan. 1, 2025"

Later in the day at 19:30 UTC, Castor highlighted a bipartisan initiative aimed at protecting children online. She urged Speaker Johnson to advance the Kids Online Safety and Privacy Act to a vote in Congress. Castor emphasized the need to "stop the exploitation of children online and empower families." "Bipartisan consensus to enact modern guardrails to protect kids online! Now is the time for @SpeakerJohnson to bring the Kids Online Safety and Privacy Act to the floor for a vote. Let’s stop the exploitation of children online and empower families."

In her final tweet of the day at 23:53 UTC, Castor expressed concern over utility regulation in Florida. She criticized state regulators and the Governor for allowing utilities to prioritize private interests over public welfare. She described this situation as "highway robbery," emphasizing that it contradicts utilities' obligation to act in the "public interest." "Yikes! Tampa Bay area families can’t catch a break. Florida utilities are supposed to act in the “public interest”. That’s why they get a monopoly. But the Governor and his regulators let them get away w highway robbery and act only in their private interest It’s wrong!"
