Kathy Castor invites hurricane hero nominations ahead of Thanksgiving

U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, currently serving Florida's 14th district in Congress, shared several updates on social media recently. Known for her community engagement and representation since 2007, Castor has been actively involved in initiatives within her district.

On November 27, 2024, Rep. Castor reached out to her constituents through a tweet inviting nominations for the "Hurricane Hero" award. She encouraged individuals to recognize those who have shown exceptional dedication and service following Hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton. "Calling all Hurricane Heroes! The following day, on November 28, 2024, she extended Thanksgiving wishes to her followers. In her message of gratitude and reflection on the year's challenges, she expressed appreciation for the Tampa Bay area's residents and emergency teams. "Happy Thanksgiving! May today be full of rest, good food and time spent with loved ones. I know this year has been challenging for us, but I am thankful for all of my neighbors, emergency management teams and small businesses that are truly the best of the Tampa Bay area."

Later that day, Rep. Castor updated her profile picture on social media with a simple hashtag announcement: "#NewProfilePic https://t.co/NbPkzmKtNQ"
