U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, serving Florida's 14th District since 2007, recently addressed several pressing issues through her social media platform. On April 15, 2025, Castor criticized former President Trump's trade policies, emphasized urgency in immigration justice, and expressed gratitude towards community engagement during a town hall meeting.On April 15, Castor shared her criticism of former President Donald Trump’s tariffs. She stated that

"Trump’s tariffs are an import tax on anything you buy", affecting items from home rebuilding supplies to daily goods such as coffee and tea for local businesses in Tampa Bay. Castor termed the economic policy costly and cruel.Later that day, Castor called for justice in immigration, referencing a Supreme Court directive regarding Abrego Garcia. She tweeted that

"Our values and rule of law demand Abrego Garcia’s return to the US immediately as the Supreme Court directed." Castor outlined Garcia's situation, highlighting his longstanding residence in the U.S., his family responsibilities, and his protection from deportation by an immigration judge.On April 16, Castor expressed appreciation to her community following a town hall event. She thanked attendees, stating,

"Thank you to my neighbors who came to my Town Hall at Hillsborough High School!" She urged citizens to be engaged by communicating with their representatives, sharing stories, and staying involved in the democratic process.
