The City of Tampa Solid Waste Department has announced modifications to the garbage collection schedule for the upcoming spring holiday. City offices will be closed on Friday, April 18, 2025, to observe the holiday.
For residential customers, there will be no garbage, recycling, or yard waste collection on April 18. "Residential customers who usually receive service on Fridays will not receive garbage, recycling or yard waste service. Customers will receive service on their next scheduled service day." Service will resume as normal on Monday, April 21, 2025.
Commercial customers who typically have Friday collections will instead be serviced on Saturday, April 19, 2025. "Commercial customers who usually receive service on Fridays will receive service on Saturday, April 19, 2025." Regular commercial services will also return on April 21.
Additionally, the McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House will not operate on April 18 but will be open on April 19 with normal hours.
Residents can check their collection schedules via the Tampa Trash and Recycling tool on the Solid Waste Recycling webpage or by using the app available on Apple and Google Play stores.
