The City of Tampa is inviting community members for a public open house this evening at 6 p.m. to discuss the Trees for Tampa program. The event's main goal is to gather feedback from the community about initial planting plans in the Ybor City and East Tampa neighborhoods.
"We hope that you can join us to talk about trees in your community," said a representative of the City of Tampa.
The open house will take place at the JC Newman Cigar Factory, located at 2701 N. 16th Street, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Trees for Tampa is a collaborative tree planting initiative managed by the City's Sustainability and Resilience and City Planning Departments. The program aims to address tree canopy loss, mitigate urban heat island effects, and enhance Tampa's tree-planting initiatives.
