On April 3, 2025, Castor criticized former President Donald Trump's imposition of tariffs. In her tweet, she stated that "Trump's reckless tariffs will do nothing for our economy, except pass on higher costs to American families." She highlighted that groceries, gas prices, and construction supplies are expected to become more expensive, impacting the rebuilding efforts after Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Later the same day, Castor encouraged community involvement by announcing an event in collaboration with the Small Business Administration. In her tweet, she invited residents to "Join Team Castor and @SBA_ODRR this Friday at the Pinellas County Urban League’s Food Truck Friday!" She tweeted, "Two days after sending the economy reeling by announcing widespread tariffs, President Donald Trump insisted his trade policies will never change as he remained ensconced in a bubble of wealth and power." She indicated Trump's continued presence in Florida, noting his activities at a golf location in Miami.
