The Tampa Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board has announced the unanimous selection of Cedric McCray as the new CRA Director. McCray, who has been serving as interim CRA Director since summer 2024, previously led the East Tampa CRA.
During his tenure as the East Tampa CRA Development Manager, McCray oversaw the East Tampa Community Advisory Committee, agency grants, and youth engagement programs. The East Tampa Emergency Roofing and Tree Trimming programs, both approved by the CRA Board, have spent more than $2 million to date.
Cedric McCray's experience as a former Interim CRA Director and former East Tampa CRA Manager positions him well to lead the agency in what is described as "the greatest city."
"We are excited to have Cedric at the helm of the CRA," said Gwendolyn Henderson, Chair of the Tampa CRA Board. "His extensive experience and dedication to community development make him the perfect choice to drive our initiatives forward and continue the growth and revitalization of our neighborhoods."
McCray has played a significant role in Tampa's community by introducing innovative solutions and fostering a collaborative approach to urban development. His leadership has contributed to many successful projects, aligning with the CRA's mission to enhance residents' quality of life.
"I am honored to be chosen as the CRA Director and look forward to working with the community to build a brighter future for Tampa," said Cedric McCray. "Together, we will continue to create opportunities, foster economic growth, and ensure that Tampa remains a vibrant and thriving city."
The board expresses confidence that under McCray's leadership, the agency will reach new milestones in community redevelopment.
