Tampa is preparing for a busy weekend as spring break and St. Patrick's Day celebrations coincide, bringing large crowds and increased traffic to the downtown area. Curtis Hixon Park will host the River O' Green event and the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 15, 2025, attracting an estimated 10,000 attendees.

The River O' Green festivities are scheduled from 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., with the parade commencing at 3:00 P.M. Attendees should heed posted signs and be mindful of road closures near the parade route, which remains unchanged from last year. The route begins at Morgan St. & Madison St., turns onto Ashley Dr., and concludes at Ashley Dr. and Polk St.

Boaters are advised that the Hillsborough River will be closed to traffic between Cass St. and Kennedy Blvd. from 8:30 A.M. until noon on Saturday.

As people leave these events, they should be aware of additional traffic due to a Tampa Bay Sun FC soccer game at Blake High School starting at 7:30 P.M.

Furthermore, Raymond James Stadium will host a Savannah Bananas game that evening, drawing approximately 60,000 fans and causing significant congestion around the stadium.

Organizers recommend planning ahead to navigate expected detours and heavy traffic efficiently. They suggest arriving early as parking spaces may fill up quickly. Alternative transportation options include using the Free TECO Streetcar, Dash Service, HART buses, rentable scooters, or rideshare services.

For updates on road closures and work zones or more information about River O' Green and the parade events, individuals can refer to designated resources.
