Jacksonville, Florida – Taylor Ryan Hill, a 27-year-old inmate from Jacksonville, has admitted guilt in the case of mailing threatening communications. This announcement was made by United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg. Hill could face up to five years in federal prison, though a sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.
Court documents reveal that on February 12, 2024, while incarcerated at Hardee Correctional Institution in Bowling Green, Hill sent a threatening letter to an Assistant State Attorney in Clay County. This attorney had previously prosecuted him for violent crimes. The letter contained threats against both the prosecutor and the judge who sentenced him, stating they would be killed. It was signed with his name and included his inmate number and the institution's address as the return address.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation alongside the Office of the State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit. The case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorneys Rachel Lasry and Michael J. Coolican.
