Tampa announces changes in trash pickup schedule for Thanksgiving holiday

In observance of Thanksgiving, City of Tampa offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28, 2024, and Friday, November 29, 2024. Commercial and residential customers will not receive collection service on Thursday, November 28.

The revised collection schedule is as follows:

Residential customers who normally receive service on Thursday, November 28, will receive service on Friday, November 29. Customers who normally receive service on Friday will have their trash collected on Saturday, November 30. Regular solid waste collection schedules will resume on Monday, December 2.

Commercial customers who usually have their trash collected on Thursday will also have their service moved to Friday. Collection services for commercial clients will continue to run one day behind through Saturday. Regular schedules for solid waste collection will return to normal starting Monday.

Commercial customers with a 65 or 95-gallon cart should adhere to the residential schedule.

McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House at 114 S. 34th St. will be closed to the public on Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday. The station will reopen with regular hours on Saturday.

New Tampa residents are advised to reach out to Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management at (813) 272-5680 for information about their holiday collection schedule.
