Tampa Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that resulted in injuries to a teenage girl early Wednesday morning. Officers on patrol as part of the New Year’s Eve Operation discovered the victim shortly after 1:00 am near N. Tampa Street and E. Cass Street.
The injured juvenile, described as being in her mid-teens, was transported to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Authorities are working to understand the circumstances leading up to the shooting. At this stage of the investigation, it appears unrelated to another shooting that occurred earlier in the evening.
