The City of Tampa is looking to fill eleven positions on the newly established Natural Resources Advisory Committee (NRAC). This committee is part of the city's Urban Forest Management Plan, which aims to optimize and protect the benefits of Tampa's urban forest. The roles include certified arborist, engineer, builder, and others. Members must be residents of Tampa and will provide guidance throughout the plan's process.

Applicants must meet specific qualifications for their designated role, embody community values regarding natural resource conservation, represent stakeholder interests objectively, and have no conflicts that would interfere with their participation on the committee.

The committee will consist of 11 members. The mayor will appoint individuals to roles such as certified arborist, developer/builder, engineer, professional scientist, landscape architect, and real estate professional. Four neighborhood representatives will be appointed by the council.

The NRAC is expected to hold at least two meetings annually. Additional meetings may occur depending on updates to the plan and ongoing needs for guidance during implementation and monitoring phases.

Those interested in applying can access the application portal through a provided link. The application period remains open until November 2024 ends, with appointments finalized by year-end.
