The Tampa Police Department has announced the launch of its 2025 TPD Community and Resources Enhancing Success (C.A.R.E.S.) grant program. This initiative aims to support community partners engaged in projects that benefit residents of Tampa.
Applicants for the TPD C.A.R.E.S. funding must align with the department's mission to collaborate with the community in reducing crime, enhancing quality of life, and making Tampa safer.
"These funds represent a valuable investment in our community," stated Chief Lee Bercaw. "Last year's recipients made significant strides in supporting our youth and families. We hope to continue that positive impact again this year across the City of Tampa."
For 2025, the total funding available has been increased to $45,000. Grants will be distributed in amounts of $15,000, $10,000; $5,000; $2,000; or $1,000.
Eligible applicants include community groups, associations, agencies, or non-profit organizations with a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) designation that provide services within Tampa's municipal boundaries. The funding is intended for programs focused on crime prevention and community engagement for both youth and adults. This includes initiatives related to social development, mentorship, drug or domestic abuse prevention and treatment, and mental health.
The application period opens on March 10, 2025. Submissions must be postmarked by midnight on April 04, 2025. Successful applicants will receive a congratulatory letter from the Chief of Police detailing the award presentation details. Notifications will also be posted on the Tampa Police Department's website.
