The City of Tampa's Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) has announced the launch of the Housing Rehabilitation & Renovation Program (HRRP). The initiative aims to provide financial assistance for home renovations and repairs within Tampa's CRA Districts, ensuring safe and secure housing for residents. Eligible repairs covered by HRRP include:

- Roof system repair or replacement

- Plumbing issues

- Electrical systems

- Structural failures such as floors and walls

- Heating/AC systems

- Exterior deterioration (walls, foundation, porches, siding)

- Window replacement

- Tree trimming

- ADA improvements

The program targets residents of Tampa's CRAs—both renters and homeowners—who earn up to 140% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Applications will be available starting August 15th at the TPD District III office, located at 3808 N 22nd St., Tampa, FL 33610 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

"We are eager to begin collecting and processing applications for the new Rehab and Renovation program," said Cedric McCray, Interim CRA Director. "This will bring a huge impact to all of our Community Redevelopment Area residents throughout the City of Tampa."

Applicants must provide personal identification, proof of income from all sources for all household members for the last 60 days, recent bank and utility statements, current mortgage statement (if applicable), and a copy of their current homeowner's insurance policy.

Additionally, The City of Tampa will host a processing workshop on August 17th at 2555 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa FL, 33610. Residents can receive assistance with completing their applications and learn more about the program during this event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Interested media can schedule an interview with Interim CRA Director Cedric McCray on Tuesday, August 13 or Wednesday, August 14 by contacting Jennifer Holton or emailing media@tampagov.net.
