As Tropical Storm Debby advances up the West Florida coastline, residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid roadways. The Tampa Bay region is expected to experience heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours, which could result in post-storm flooding, especially in low-lying areas or near bodies of water. Drivers heading out Monday morning should exercise caution and avoid driving through floodwaters.

In emergency situations, residents should call 911. For non-life-threatening emergencies, individuals are encouraged to contact TPD’s non-emergency line at (813) 231-6130. To report any flooding incidents, residents should call the Stormwater Customer Service Line at (813) 274-3101.

Tampa residents or business owners whose properties sustain non-life-threatening damage due to the storm are urged to complete the Resident Damage Self Reporting Form. This form assists city crews in identifying damages more efficiently and helps report back to county, state, and federal authorities such as Hillsborough County and FEMA. It is important to note that this form does not replace private property insurance claims.

Residents with storm-related questions can contact the City of Tampa’s Call Center at 833-TPA-INFO. Text alerts are available by texting TAMPAREADY or TAMPALISTA (Spanish) to 888-777. Updates can also be found by following @AlertTampa and @CityofTampa on social media.
