The Tampa Police Department is working to identify and apprehend two suspects who committed an armed robbery at Prince Jewelry located inside WestShore Plaza Mall.

Just before noon on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, officers responded to WestShore Plaza Mall after reports of an armed robbery. Upon their arrival, the suspects had already fled the scene.

Through their investigation, detectives learned the suspects were armed with a sledgehammer, which was used to break the jewelry cases, and pepper spray, which was used to threaten store employees and mall security.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to store employees or bystanders.

After stealing numerous pieces of jewelry, both suspects fled through the mall and left in a silver Chevy Malibu that was parked near Dick’s Sporting Goods. The vehicle is believed to be a newer model equipped with a sunroof and tinted windows. There was no license plate on the vehicle.

At the time of the robbery, both suspects were wearing facial coverings, dark-colored pants and shoes, long-sleeved shirts, and gloves.

Tampa Police detectives are diligently working to identify the suspects and make an arrest in this case.

Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to call the non-emergency number at 813-231-6130 or share an anonymous tip via Tip411, accessible through the TampaPD app.
