In an upcoming event set to take place on Saturday, January 20, 2024, Mayor Jane Castor, along with the King and Queen of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, will be available for interviews to discuss the Children's Gasparilla Parade in Tampa, Florida. This parade, presented by Chick-fil-A Tampa Bay, is widely considered the largest children's event in the country.
The Children's Gasparilla Parade is a highly anticipated event that attracts participants and spectators from all over. The parade will start at Bay to Bay and Bayshore Boulevard and proceed north along Bayshore Boulevard, ending at Edison Avenue. This year's parade will feature pirates, floats, marching bands, and more.
Mayor Jane Castor, as well as King CIX William Player Curtis and Queen CIX Hayley Duvall Divers of the Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla, will provide insights into the event and the City's plans to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Prior to the main parade, there will be several pre-event activities for parade-goers to enjoy. These include the Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Rodeo with the Tampa Police Department, the Gasparilla Preschooler’s Stroll presented by Primrose Schools, and the Gasparilla Air Invasion. The airshow fun will continue during twilight hours with the Gasparilla Nighttime Air Invasion, which will feature a 'Piratechnic' fireworks display.
The Gasparilla Children's Parade is an annual event that recreates the imaginary battle between the pirates of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla and the City of Tampa. This tradition dates back to 1904 and has become a beloved part of Tampa's history. Despite the efforts of the City, the pirates of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla remain undefeated to this day.
The Children's Gasparilla Parade sets the stage for the larger Gasparilla Invasion and Seminole Hard Rock Gasparilla Pirate Fest, which is scheduled for the following Saturday, January 27. These events are marketed, managed, and produced annually by EventFest, Inc.
For those planning to attend the Children's Gasparilla Parade, it is important to be aware of road closures, parking information, and the "no ride zones" for escooters and ebikes. More details can be found on the official website.
This year, the Children's Gasparilla Parade promises to be an exciting and memorable event for all participants and spectators. With Mayor Jane Castor and the King and Queen of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla available for interviews, it is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the event and the efforts put in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
