City of Tampa Garbage Collection Schedule Revised for Christmas and New Year Holidays

In observance of New Year's Day, the City of Tampa offices will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024.

Residential Customers will be affected as follows:

  • Monday, January 1, 2024: No collection will take place.
  • Tuesday, January 2, 2024: Normal collection schedules will resume.
Commercial Customers will be affected as follows:

  • New Year's Holiday Collection Service: 
    • On New Year's Week, Commercial services will run one day late through Saturday, January 6, 2024. 
    • Customers who receive service on Monday, January 1, 2024, will receive service on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. 
  • Commercial customers with a 65 or 95-gallon cart should follow the residential schedule. 
McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House, located at 114 S. 34th Street.

  • In observance of New Year's Day, the facilities will be closed on January 1, 2024.
    • Normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Christmas Tree Collection Service:

The Department will begin offering curbside Christmas Tree Collection Service, at no additional charge, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. To take advantage of this service, residents must remove all decorations and lights, cut tree limbs to four (4) feet lengths, bundle, and place curbside on their regularly scheduled yard waste collection day. All discarded lights and/or decorations are not recyclable and must be placed in the garbage cart.

NOTE: New Tampa residents are encouraged to contact Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management at (813) 272-5680 for their holiday collection schedule.
