On December 17, 2023, Tampa Police hosted "Santa's Workshop" at Middleton High School, providing gifts to local children in need this holiday season. The event allowed children and their families to handpick toys and participate in holiday activities.

Thanks to the generosity of the community and local businesses, over 3,000 toys and 95 bikes were collected. This enabled approximately 1,800 children to benefit from Santa's Workshop this year. Chief Lee Bercaw expressed gratitude, stating, "The holidays are difficult for many, especially for those who cannot financially afford to purchase toys for their children. It is because of the community's generous donations and our officers' ability to assess the needs in their communities that we were able to make some magic and ensure our city's youngest residents can celebrate the holiday season."

The success of Santa's Workshop was made possible by the support of various organizations and companies. The First Responders Children's Network, Kids Wish Network, Walmart, and Shlomo Subs of Palm Harbor all made significant donations of toys and bikes. Chief Lee Bercaw extended his appreciation to these organizations and also thanked the community members who donated toys during the "Cram the Cruiser" events.

Chief Lee Bercaw emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, "Without the significant contributions of the community, we wouldn't have been able to help as many children as we did. It's an honor to serve the department in a city that cares about its community members and neighbors."

Tampa Police's efforts in organizing Santa's Workshop demonstrate their commitment to making a positive impact in the community. By providing gifts to children in need, they are spreading joy and making the holiday season brighter for many families.
