As the holiday season begins, the first night of Chanukah will be honored in the City of Tampa on December 7 with an annual menorah lighting.
Members of the public are invited to join City of Tampa officials, Tampa City Council Members, Chabad CHAI South Tampa, and Chabad of Tampa Bay for the free community event which will include food (hot latkes, doughnuts, popcorn and cotton candy), in addition to family-friendly activities (rock climbing wall, obstacle course, face painting, live entertainment, raffle prizes, and more). The event is sponsored in part by the Bank of Tampa.
The Menorah lighting will begin at 5:30 pm Thursday at City Hall Plaza located at 315 E. Kennedy Blvd.
Rabbi Mendy Dubrowski with Chabad CHAI South Tampa will be available to speak to media in attendance about the start of Chanukah.
