Thank you, Congresswoman Stefanik. Good afternoon, everyone! It’s an honor to be here today. I would first like to recognize the Secretaries of State that we have in attendance with us—Louisiana SoS Kyle Ardoin, Ohio SoS Frank LaRose, West Virginia SoS Mac Warner, Iowa SoS Paul Pate, and Alabama SoS Wes Allen.

As the former Secretary of State of Florida, I know firsthand the confidence and trust that voters have in their state’s chief election official.

I am so grateful to be joined by these secretaries, they have critical jobs and play such an important role in ensuring that our nation has safe and secure elections. Voters rely on their elections.

Under Chairman Steil's leadership, the Committee on House Administration has been working hard to strengthen our elections nationwide. Earlier this week, we introduced the American Confidence in Elections Act, a comprehensive election bill that will promote transparency, increase security, and build voter confidence in our nation’s elections.

I currently serve as the Chair of the House Administration Subcommittee on Elections. One of my top priorities is to share the policies and standards that lead to strong elections with other states across our country, which is exactly what the ACE Act will do.

This bill reinforces voter confidence in our elections while respecting the Constitution, federalism, and conservative principles, leaving to states the primary responsibility to administer elections, while also recognizing the important role Congress can, and should have to serve as a resource and a partner in protecting our elections.

Elections officials have a saying: Elections are partisan. Elections administration is not. House Republicans are committed to ensuring that principle holds true across our country.

This bill protects free speech and increases security, transparency, and efficiency in elections across the country, all while helping states implement best practices to test and certify elections equipment, deliver timely results, and keep voter rolls clean.

The ACE Act has been drafted collaboratively with Secretaries of State, county elections officials, state legislators, and voters—all of whom are committed to strengthening our nation’s elections.

We share a common goal: in America, it should be easy to vote and hard to cheat.

Again, I would like to thank Chairman Steil for his leadership with the introduction of this important legislation that will provide real solutions for voters and will ensure all eligible voters can have their voices heard and have confidence in our nation’s elections.

Thank you. Next, I would like to introduce my colleague...
