Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Laurel Lee (R-FL) joined House Administration Committee Chairman, Bryan Steil, to introduce the American Confidence in Elections (ACE) Act in Atlanta, Georgia. Following the introduction, the Committee held a field hearing on the ACE Act entitled, American Confidence in Elections: The Path to Election Integrity Across America.
This monumental legislation will equip states with election integrity tools to ensure all Americans’ First Amendment rights are safe. Additionally, this legislation will prevent non-citizen voting, ensure the men and women serving our country have their ballots counted, and direct federal resources to increase election security measures.
“Today, I am proud to introduce the ACE Act which reinforces voter confidence in our elections while respecting the Constitution, federalism, and conservative principles. This legislation will promote election transparency, increase security and efficiency, and make sure states across the country have access to resources and best practices to do elections right,” said Rep. Laurel Lee. “As Florida’s former Secretary of State, I oversaw the state’s elections as the Chief Elections Official. In Florida, the third largest state, we produce results on election night—this goes a long way in ensuring voter confidence.”
“The Committee has worked in collaboration with Secretaries of State, local elections officials, legislators, and voters across the country to craft this legislation to boost voter confidence in our elections. I am proud to introduce this bill to protect free speech and ensure all eligible voters can have their voices heard in our nation’s elections,” Rep. Lee continued.
