I was proud to join my friends at Rise Up for Peace today at the bench dedication at City of Tampa Parks Ragan Park. This bench is meant to be a place of peace for families who have lost loved ones to violent crime and senseless gun violence.
Moms, Dads, spouses, children who have lost loved ones to violent crime came to talk about their pain and their journey to, God willing, become strong in broken places.
Joining us were representatives from Tampa Police Department, Council woman elect Gwen Henderson, Councilwoman Hurtak and Councilman Maniscalco.
Thank you to Rise Up for Peace for fighting for families that need a space to heal from life’s toughest hits.
