On April 18, 2025, Castor remarked on the Tampa Bay Area's leadership in the clean energy sector, attributing the success to "manufacturing champions like @Jabil." She emphasized the economic benefits, including job creation and research advancements, stating, "With hundreds of new jobs, research and development and boosts to our local economy - cleaner, cheaper energy continues to be the strongest path forward."
On April 21, 2025, Castor referenced a plea by Pope Francis concerning environmental preservation. She quoted the Pope's urging to protect the climate, live healthier lives, and reduce pollution with a more comprehensive perspective, stating, "What is being asked of us is nothing other than a certain responsibility for the legacy we will leave behind, once we pass from this."

Kathy Castor, a seasoned legislator and representative for Tampa and its surrounding area, first began her Congressional career after replacing Jim Davis in 2007. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the Florida House of Representatives. Her academic background includes a BA from Emory University and a JD from Florida State University. Castor was born in Miami, Florida, and currently resides in Tampa, Florida.
