The City of Tampa will remain closed through Friday due to severe weather and the increasing threat of storm surge and flooding. Solid Waste services are also suspended on Friday, September 27. Residents are encouraged to download the Tampa Trash and Recycling app for real-time updates on service schedules.

Hurricane Helene is expected to bring heavy rainfall, tropical storm force winds, and dangerous storm surges up to eight feet in some areas along the Tampa Bay coastline. The risk of flash flooding, downed trees, and power lines increases following the storm. City officials urge residents to stay indoors and take precautions while assessing damages around their homes.

Residents can visit tampa.gov/floodmaps for a list of flooded streets. Important storm-related information is shared with those who subscribe to TAMPAREADY or TAMPALISTA by texting 888-777 to enroll in the free alert service.
