The City of Tampa has initiated a partial activation of its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in preparation for Hurricane Helene. The storm is expected to impact the Tampa Bay area early Thursday morning, prompting the EOC to enter full activation at 7:00 A.M., Thursday, September 26, 2024. Essential personnel will be stationed at the EOC throughout the storm and during post-storm recovery efforts.
A dedicated emergency hotline for storm-related inquiries is now operational. Residents with questions or concerns can reach out by calling 1-833-TPA-INFO (872-4636). This call center will remain open until 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Jane Castor declared a State of Emergency for the City of Tampa on Wednesday morning, September 25, 2024. "View the executive order here."
To stay updated during the storm, residents are encouraged to sign up for alerts at Tampagov.net/AlertTampa or by texting TAMPAREADY to 888-777. For Spanish alerts, text TAMPALISTA to 888-777. Updates will also be available on social media through @CityofTampa.
