The City of Tampa, in collaboration with the Junior League of Tampa, will collect diapers for local families in need during the week of September 23. The donation drive will commence with a flag-raising ceremony on Monday, September 23, hosted by City Councilman Luis Viera.

The ceremony, scheduled for 10:00 am outside Old City Hall, will mark the start of National Diaper Need Awareness Week (September 23-29). This weeklong initiative aims to raise awareness about the necessity for diapers among many local families.

National Diaper Need Awareness Week highlights the importance of providing adequate diapers to families facing financial difficulties. Insufficient diapers can pose health risks to babies and toddlers. "No family should have to choose between paying for food or keeping their child clean and healthy."

Throughout the week, city landmarks will be illuminated in Junior League blue to promote awareness. Community members who wish to contribute to the diaper drive are encouraged to drop off donations at these locations:

Tampa Municipal Office Building, 306 E Jackson St

City Center at Hanna Avenue, 2555 E Hanna Ave

Donated diapers will be distributed directly to families in need through the Junior League of Tampa. For more information on how to donate or get involved, please contact the Junior League of Tampa.
