Residents and businesses near the Tampa Convention Center may hear cannon sounds on Friday, September 20. The noises are part of a private event hosted by the Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla to welcome the Tampa Bay Sports Commission and their guests around noon. The cannon sounds, which will be brief, lasting no more than 15 seconds, are intended as theatrical noise props.
This event is not open to the public or media. The advisory aims to inform the public and nearby businesses in the downtown area about the expected noise.
