Tampa Police Arrest Juvenile for Shooting at 8600 Block of Armenia Ave

Tampa Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on January 26, 2024, at the 8600 block of N Armenia Ave. The suspect, a 14-year-old male, has been taken into custody for allegedly shooting a 16-year-old male following a fight near a bus stop.

According to witnesses at the scene, the incident unfolded after a confrontation between the two juveniles. Officers were able to obtain video evidence that showed the suspect, identified as Scott Decerant, chasing the victim with a firearm in his hand. The seriousness of the situation is evident as Decerant now faces multiple charges.

Decerant has been charged with aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony with a firearm, attempted murder in the first-degree (premeditated/firearm), aggravated battery with great bodily harm or deadly weapon (firearm), carrying a concealed firearm, and being a minor in possession of a firearm.
