As a symbol of support and solidarity, the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County are proud to announce the donation of medical triage items and protective equipment to assist Israel during these challenging times. This effort comes as a response to a heartfelt request from Chabad South Tampa.

The provided equipment includes multiple boxes of crucial items such as quick clot gauze, bandages, and burn dressings, as well as protective ballistic shields. These supplies, provided through the Tampa Police Department, Tampa Fire Rescue, and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, will offer critical support to Israeli police and other security forces, ensuring their safety during times of distress.

The City of Tampa and Hillsborough County worked diligently with the Office of the Consulate General of Israel in Miami to expedite the transport and distribution of these life-saving tools, given the ongoing threat to the safety of its citizens.

After receiving the request for help on Wednesday, October 11, the city and county swiftly gathered the necessary items for transport to Miami early Thursday morning, October 12, from the City's police and fire training facility on 34th Street. The equipment will be flown from Miami directly to Israel, where Israeli officials will ensure it reaches those in dire need.

"These donations reflect how Tampa Bay stands in steadfast solidarity with Israel after the savage acts of terrorism that have shaken so many of us to the core,” said Tampa Mayor Jane Castor. “Israel's fight against terrorism is our fight too."

Adding to this sentiment, County Commissioner Harry Cohen remarked, "We are all reeling from the barbaric attacks on Israel, and these supplies will be put to good use by the men and women on the front lines."

The partnership underscores a unified stand against violence and an enduring commitment to peace and human dignity.

Rabbi Mendy Dubrowski of Chabad South Tampa, pivotal in coordinating the donations, noted, “People are recognizing that the atrocities that took place this weekend are an attack on humanity at large, and they want to help."
