Tampa Police Recover Body of Missing Boat Captain

Tampa, FLA.- Divers with the Tampa Police Department have recovered the body of Curtis Lee Cowling, the missing boat captain, from a submerged vessel. Cowling, who lived on the boat, was last seen on Saturday night around 11:00 pm. Chief Lee Bercaw expressed his condolences, stating, "Although our Dive Team members, joined by multiple agencies, all worked tirelessly in their efforts, we now share in the sorrow of this tragic outcome. Tampa Police Investigate Fatal Hit & Run on N. River Cove Street

Tampa Police are currently investigating a fatal hit and run incident that occurred on N. River Cove Street. The incident involved a United States Postal Services vehicle and resulted in the death of the postal carrier, a white male in his late 60's. The driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene after colliding with the USPS truck.According to preliminary investigation, a dark colored Mercedes sedan was identified as the suspect vehicle. Tampa, FLA. - The Tampa Police Department has issued a Purple Alert for a missing endangered adult. Lakayveonna Vontronique Brown, born on August 20, 1996, was last seen at 9:00 A.M. on December 18th, 2023 at the Tuscany Pointe Apartments on W Hillsborough Avenue. Brown was wearing a red sweater, dark blue jeans, and carrying a yellow wig when she left the location on foot in an unknown direction of travel.Authorities are concerned for Brown's well-being as she is believed to suffer from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Tampa Police Searching for Missing Boat Captain at 2600 Block of Causeway Blvd

TAMPA - The Tampa Police Department is currently conducting a search for a missing boat captain at the 2600 block of Causeway Blvd. Early this morning, multiple reports came in regarding a shrimp boat that had submerged underwater. The vessel, named "Miss Jordi," is a 63 ft boat that was found underwater, leaking thousands of gallons of diesel fuel into the water.The captain of the boat, Curtis Lee Cowling, was last seen on December 16, 2023, at 11:00 p.m. Due to his disappearance and the hazardous situation caused by the leaking fuel, Cowling is now listed as "Missing...
