The City of Tampa has announced that while its offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024, in observance of Veterans Day, residential and commercial waste collection services will continue as usual.

Residential customers scheduled for service on Monday will still receive garbage and recycling collection. However, yard waste services remain suspended due to ongoing hurricane debris collection efforts. Commercial customers will also maintain their regular collection schedule on the holiday.

The McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House at 114 S. 34th Street will not operate on Veterans Day but will resume normal hours on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Residents can check their collection schedules using the Tampa Trash and Recycling tool available on the Department of Solid Waste Recycling webpage or through an app downloadable from Apple and Google Play stores. The tool also offers a sign-up option for reminder notifications.

For further inquiries or issues, customers are advised to contact the City of Tampa Utilities Call Center at (813) 274-8811 or visit tampa.gov/SolidWaste. New residents in New Tampa should reach out to Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management at (813) 272-5680 for holiday schedule information.
