The City of Tampa has announced the extension of closures for all city offices and facilities through Monday, October 14, 2024, as recovery efforts from Hurricane Milton continue. This includes the closure of all Parks & Recreation facilities and programs, such as after-school care.
Normal operations are expected to resume on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. However, due to ongoing debris removal and power outages, only a limited number of parks will be reopening. Residents can check Tampa.gov/parks for an updated list of available parks.
The Department of Solid Waste in Tampa will restart residential garbage and recycling services on Monday. Collection of hurricane-related debris is ongoing. Residents are advised to separate household items and construction debris from vegetative storm debris when placing them curbside.
Drive-through Point of Distribution Sites (PODS) remain operational daily from 7 AM to 7 PM at Gandy Boat Ramp and Al Lopez Park. Supplies including water, MREs, ice, and tarps will be distributed while stocks last.
For additional updates on recovery efforts, residents are encouraged to visit Tampa.gov or follow the City’s official social media channels. They can also sign up for ALERTTAMPA text message updates by texting TAMPAREADY or TAMPALISTA (for Spanish) to 888-777.
