All are welcome to celebrate Tampa's 137th birthday alongside city leaders and historians on Monday, July 15, 2024. The event precedes a week-long series of activities showcasing the city's history over the past century.

Coinciding with Archives Awareness Week, this event will be hosted within Old City Hall. Attendees will hear from City Council Member Charlie Miranda, who has served Tampanians for more than 30 years, and Fred Hearns, curator of Black History for the Tampa Bay History Center. Hearns will provide an informative talk about Tampa's first form of government and life in the city 100 years ago.

Following the formal event in Council Chambers, a reception will be held in the Sister Cities room on the first floor of Old City Hall. A commemorative brochure compiled by the City of Tampa's Archives and Records Department will be available for those interested in additional reading material. A digital copy can also be viewed online.
