The City of Tampa’s Parks and Recreation Department, in collaboration with the Hillsborough Transit Authority (HART), has announced the launch of Swim With HART. This program allows HART riders to gain free admission to City of Tampa pools by presenting their bus passes.
The pilot program will run through the end of the summer pool season, concluding on Saturday, August 10. By showing a bus pass at any of the 11 open pools managed by Parks and Recreation, residents can enjoy free access during open swim and lap swim hours.
“This partnership between Parks and Recreation and HART will enable more residents to enjoy our City of Tampa pools,” said Tampa Mayor Jane Castor. “It’s great that we can count on HART to help Tampa’s residents become more active and have more fun.”
Although it is not necessary to take a bus to access the pools, HART has created a custom map highlighting the best routes to four pools and three splash pads.
"We are excited to partner with the City of Tampa’s Parks and Recreation Department to provide free pool access to HART riders this summer,” stated Frank Wyszynski, HART Manager of Marketing. “This initiative lets riders beat the heat and also encourages residents to utilize public transportation for fun and recreational activities.”
