Tampa Police Detectives are seeking assistance from the community to solve the tragic shooting death of 14-year-old Jevario Buie. Chief Lee Bercaw expressed, "This is a senseless tragedy that has taken a young life." The Chief added, "Jevario's family is heartbroken, and our detectives are working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice."
On the fateful day of April 17th, officers responded to reports of gunfire near the 1400 block of W. Busch Blvd. Jevario was found near the railroad tracks between Busch Blvd. and Rome Ave, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The police are urging the community to step forward with any information they may have. Chief Bercaw emphasized, "We are asking the community to come forward with any information they may have. Even the smallest detail could be crucial in solving this case and finding justice for Jevario’s family."
In hopes of generating leads, Jevario's family has allowed the release of his information and photographs. Detectives are optimistic that someone with vital information about the shooting will come forward to assist in the investigation. The family has requested privacy as they cope with this challenging time.
