The City of Tampa is dishing out a recipe for small food businesses to thrive through its Bridges to Business program. "The Bridges to Business Vendor Certification program is a City-led initiative aimed at empowering small catering companies and food truck operators by enhancing their eligibility for government and private sector collaborations," said an official statement.
Entrepreneurs are invited to attend the upcoming Bridges to Business session on February 26, 2024, from 2 pm-5 pm at the City Center at Hanna Avenue. "Entrepreneurs participating in the upcoming Bridges to Business session will receive on-site assistance from City Equal Business Opportunity staff to navigate the application process for minority-owned, women-owned, or small business certifications," the statement added.
During the session, attendees will have the opportunity to network with representatives from various City departments and business start-up consultants. "Representatives from the Department of Business and Professional Regulations will also be present to offer insights on State licensing, inspections, food management, employee certifications, and more," the statement highlighted.
One of the key benefits for attendees is gaining crucial knowledge to seize opportunities like vending at the popular "Food Truck Fridays" and other special events hosted in City parks. Interested individuals can visit the City of Tampa Bridges to Business webpage for more information.
In addition, media outlets are invited to interview the City of Tampa Director of Community Engagement and Partnerships, Janelle McGregor, at the City Center at Hanna Ave on Friday, February 23, during the "Food Truck Friday" event. Media outlets interested in reserving an interview should email media@tampagov.net.
