USF Women’s Soccer Weathers Hurricanes, 2-0

The University of South Florida women's soccer team earned its second consecutive victory with a 2-0 win over the Miami Hurricanes on a rainy Thursday evening in Tampa.

Lucy Roberts (Cheshire, England) scored her second goal of the season in the match, while Chiara Hahn (Lauterbach, Germany) scored her third of the season. Arden La-Rose (Toronto, Canada) earned her first collegiate shutout in the victory as well.

The Bulls got on the board early. Roberts found the back of the net in the 25th minute off a corner kick taken by Gentiana Fetaj (Minden, Germany). Her header beat the Miami keeper in the upper left corner to take the 1-0 lead. The score held for the remainder of the half, sending USF to the locker room with the one-goal lead.

South Florida continued to play smothering defense, allowing its first shot attempt of the game in the 51st minute and limiting Miami to three shot attempts in total in the 90 minutes of play. Hahn extended the Bulls' lead in the 79th minute, launching a shot from outside the box that found twine to give USF a 2-0 lead that held for the remainder.
