U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, serving Florida’s 14th district since 2007, recently shared a series of statements on social media addressing environmental health concerns and federal social programs. Castor, who succeeded Jim Davis in Congress, has been an advocate for children’s health and social welfare.

On March 25, 2025, Rep. Castor highlighted the importance of protecting children's health from pollution risks. She stated that "Children face greater health risks from dirty air and water pollution & are at greater risk for developing asthma and diabetes." Emphasizing the significance of safeguarding young Americans' physical and mental well-being, she expressed confidence in a legislative bill aimed at ensuring continued protection for children’s health.

Later the same day, Castor criticized former President Trump’s policies regarding Social Security and other welfare programs. In her tweet posted on March 25, 2025, she asserted that "Trump is wrecking Social Security on purpose, despite promising you they wouldn't touch it." She described the actions as an "extreme scheme" intended to benefit billionaires with substantial tax breaks while cutting essential services like Medicaid and food assistance.
