U.S. Representative Kathy Castor, who has been serving Florida's 14th district since 2007, recently shared her thoughts and upcoming events through a series of tweets. These posts reflect her engagement with community matters and acknowledgment of local heroes.

On January 30, 2025, Rep. Castor expressed her sorrow over an incident at DCA airport. She stated, "I am deeply saddened by the tragic incident at DCA airport." She also extended gratitude to first responders and offered prayers for those affected.

The following day, on January 31, she invited the public to celebrate Tampa's Black History at an event scheduled for February 3rd at Robert W. Saunders, Sr. Public Library. In her tweet, she mentioned that Congressional Records would be awarded to Eunice Butts and Carrie Hurst for their community service: "Celebrate and honor Tampa's Black History with my office and our neighbors Monday, Feb. 3rd..."

Later that day, Rep. Castor highlighted the contributions of Mike Trigg, owner of Konan’s BBQ in Tampa. She noted his efforts during Hurricanes Helene and Milton when he provided free meals to his community: "A picture is worth a thousand words, but this one I wish you could taste!" She praised him as a "hurricane hero."
