On January 29, Rep. Castor celebrated the opening of Casabel-Mar, an apartment complex aimed at providing affordable and sustainable housing. She expressed her support for this initiative by stating "High-quality, safe and affordable housing in a desirable location should be accessible to everyone & @tampahaorg is making that a reality with Casabel-Mar. I was proud to help cut the ribbon on the completed apartment complex where affordability meets sustainability."
Later that day, she conveyed her sorrow regarding the death of Tech. Sgt. Richard Padilla from MacDill Air Force Base. In her tweet, she mentioned "I am saddened to hear of the passing of @MacDill_AFB Tech. Sgt. Richard Padilla. I am grateful for his service to Tampa Bay and our nation." She extended her condolences to his family and others affected by what she described as a "senseless rampage."
In another tweet on the same day, Rep. Castor criticized RFK Jr., questioning his capability as Health Secretary due to what she described as an inability to answer basic questions and his contradictory statements. She stated "We deserve a Health Secretary who cares about access to high-quality, affordable health care... RFK Jr.'s dangerous dealings & blind loyalty to Trump will come at the expense of all Americans."
