Tampa police arrest suspect in Silver Oaks Apartments shooting

Tampa Police have arrested Joshua Thomas, aged 22, in connection with a shooting incident that took place on December 3, 2024. The incident occurred at the Silver Oaks Apartments located on the 4200 block of Patsy Court.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 9:10 a.m. Upon arrival, they found an adult male victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.

The investigation determined that both parties involved were acquainted and present at the defendant's residence when a verbal dispute escalated. According to authorities, "Thomas intentionally grabbed the firearm and shot the victim multiple times."

Following the incident, Thomas was taken into custody at the scene and later transported to Orient Road Jail. He faces charges including "One Felony Count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree with a Firearm" and "One Felony Count of Aggravated Battery."
