As Tampa begins its recovery from Hurricane Milton, city officials are advising residents to stay indoors until it is confirmed safe to go outside. The city emphasizes that safety should be the main concern and urges people to wait for official updates before assessing property damage.

Residents and business owners with non-life-threatening property damage are encouraged to use the Resident Damage Self Reporting Form available at tampa.gov/SelfReport once conditions allow. This initiative aims to help the city efficiently identify damaged areas and report them to Hillsborough County and FEMA. It is important to note that this form does not replace private insurance claims.

Tampa police are patrolling neighborhoods to monitor damage and flooding. A map of reported street flooding can be accessed at tampa.gov/floodmaps, and flooding can be reported via the Tampa Police non-emergency line at 813-231-6130.

Power outages should be reported to TECO by calling (877) 588-1010. Residents can receive post-storm updates by texting TAMPAREADY or TAMPALISTA to 888-777, with more resources available at tampa.gov/hurricane.
