The Tampa Convention Center has announced its closure on Tuesday, October 8, and Wednesday, October 9, in anticipation of Hurricane Milton. Decisions regarding operations on Thursday, October 10, will be made based on the storm's impact. Additionally, The Sail Plaza and Big Ray's Fish Camp are closed and will remain so until conditions are deemed safe.

In preparation for the hurricane, the convention center team has implemented standard protocols. These measures include placing sandbags and protective waterproof coverings at entrances to mitigate potential water damage.

Once the storm has passed and access to the property is safe, "our Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering team will quickly survey our facility for any potential damage and begin the cleanup process." The team is prepared to initiate post-storm procedures to resume normal operations promptly. Updates will be provided as they become available.
